This page provides a list of registered trademarks owned by IQM Finland Oy (“IQM”) in the European Union. Some of these marks may also be registered or used as trademarks in other countries.
The list presented here is not intended to be a complete record of all trademarks owned or used by IQM. The absence of a particular mark does not imply that IQM does not own or use it, nor does it indicate that the related product or service is no longer offered or lacks importance in its market.

IQM Trademark usage guidelines for third parties
Introduction
These guidelines explain how and when you may use the trademarks of IQM Quantum Computers (“IQM”). They exist to maintain the strength, consistency, and distinctiveness of the IQM® brand, while protecting its legal rights. IQM owns its trademarks and is committed to their consistent and proper use as well as their long-term protection. These guidelines may be updated from time to time.
Use of any IQM trademark not expressly permitted by IQM is prohibited. Permitted third-party use of an IQM trademark must clearly and accurately describe the nature of the association with IQM.
2. IQM’s trademarks and brand assets
Trademarks include any words, names, logos, symbols, slogans, or other identifiers owned by IQM. Each asset may be registered or unregistered in various countries. Find a list of IQM trademarks above.
3. Permitted uses
You may use IQM trademarks only if all of the following are true:
- You have received a written permission from IQM.
- You use the marks in the form IQM provides and do not alter them.
- Your use is for descriptive or referential purposes (i.e. you are talking about the brand, not as the brand).
- You follow all rules in these guidelines.
Certain limited uses, such as references in news reporting, may not require prior written permission. Permitted uses relating to open source software are described separately below in Section 5.
If you use IQM’s trademarks in violation of these guidelines in any way, IQM may revoke your right to use the trademarks, even if otherwise allowed under the guidelines.
4. Prohibited uses
The following uses of IQM’s trademarks are not allowed (the list is not exhaustive):
- In any way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or partnership without permission.
- On merchandise or promotional materials without permission.
- As part of your own company name, product name, service name, domain name, trademark, or logo.
- In a web page title, titletag, metatag, or other manner with the intent or the likely effect of influencing search engine rankings or results listings.
- In a misleading or confusing manner that is, for example, unethical, offensive, disparaging, defamatory, illegal, or in bad taste.
If you feel you need to use IQM’s trademarks as described above, and have a legitimate reason to do so, please contact IQM. Some such uses may be acceptable under a written license agreement or a written permission negotiated between you and IQM. However, IQM will decide this at its discretion on a case-by-case basis.
5. Open source licenses
Certain versions of the IQM software are distributed under open source licenses. Please keep in mind that the open source license is not a trademark license and does not grant any trademark rights. Although you may distribute and modify certain software under the open source license, you may use IQM’s trademarks in connection with those modifications and distributions only as described in these guidelines. Consequently, these guidelines will not limit or restrict any rights granted under the applicable open source license, and these guidelines govern trademark use only.
Genuine IQM software, which is sourced by IQM and thus properly bears IQM’s trademarks, is the software in the exact binary form that it is distributed by IQM, without modification of any kind. Once any modification has been made to the IQM software, the modified software may not be distributed under IQM’s trademarks, except as expressly permitted below for nominative fair use of IQM trademarks in word form. The public has a right to know when it is receiving a genuine IQM product that is quality assured by IQM. However, limited nominative and descriptive fair uses of IQM trademarks are permitted as described below.
The following uses of IQM’s trademarks relating to open source software are permitted without pre-approval and/or an explicit written permission by IQM:
- Unaltered binaries: You may distribute binaries downloaded from the IQM website to anyone, without receiving any further permission from IQM. However, you must not remove or change any part of the official binary, including IQM’s trademarks. On your website or in other materials, you may truthfully state that the software you are providing is an unmodified version of a IQM application. If you choose to provide access to IQM binaries, IQM recommends linking directly to IQM official download site to ensure users receive the most current and secure version. Only the most current released version may be distributed using IQM trademarks.
- This policy is not intended to prohibit nominative fair use of IQM’s trademarks in word form, including truthful statements describing compatibility, derivation or interoperability, provided always that such use does not imply sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation by IQM.
The following uses of IQM’s trademarks relating to open source software are not allowed (the list is not exhaustive):
- Modified versions. You may not use the trademarks of IQM with any modified program (including a modified configuration or build) that you create using this source code, and you may not use the trademarks of IQM in any way to designate a modified version, except that you may truthfully state that the software you are providing contains portions that are derived from the IQM software, and then only by using the trademarks of IQM in their word form such as “based on IQM software” or “built from IQM software”. You may not use any IQM logo on any modified version. If you want to build an unmodified version, you should instead use our binary distribution only.
- Extensions and plug-ins. If you want to distribute extensions or plugins with IQM software, you may not use the trademarks of IQM except as expressly allowed in these terms. You may use IQM trademarks in word form to describe compatibility, such as “plugin for IQM software”, provided that the IQM software remains unmodified and the extensions or plugins are clearly identified as separate and independent components.
- No endorsement. Notwithstanding the above, you may not use IQM trademarks in a manner that suggests that your modifications, extensions or plug-ins originate from IQM or are otherwise endorsed, provided or certified by IQM
- You may not embed, frame, dynamically incorporate or display IQM logos within your software, website or application interface without express written permission. 6. Proper trademark use
If you use IQM’s trademarks as described in these guidelines, below are rules on how they should be used:
6.1 Correct form
IQM’s trademarks should be used in their exact form and styling as supplied.
- Do not abbreviate to create an acronym.
- Do not combine with any other word or words.
- Do not vary the spelling, add capitalization or hyphens.
- When using a logo, do not modify the design, add or delete any words, or change any colors or proportions.
- A logo must be used as standalone icons, without any other third-party logos and/or trademarks combined or associated with them.
The IQM logo may be used only in accordance with IQM’s Logo Guidelines. Additional brand guidelines may be provided by IQM’s Marketing team where applicable.
6.2 Trademark symbols and attribution
The first or most prominent mention of IQM’s trademark should be accompanied by a correct trademark symbol. Please refer to the list of IQM trademarks available above to confirm the correct symbol.
- “®” for registered marks.
- “™” for unregistered marks.
The fact that the trademarks are owned by IQM should be stated in a footnote or similar place, in a reasonably legible position and size:
- “IQM is a trademark of IQM Finland Oy.”
6.3 Positioning in text
When referencing our brand in text, the word form of a trademark should be in the same font and style as the surrounding text. Always use the trademark as an adjective, and not as a verb or noun or in the possessive or plural forms.
7. Review and approval process
All uses of IQM’s trademarks must be pre-approved unless specifically exempted. To request approval, please contact IQM and provide the following information:
- A description of intended use
- A visual/mockup of the logo in context
- Target media (print, web, video, etc.)
8. Legal rights
Trademarks of IQM are valuable assets protected under national and international laws. Anyone using IQM’s trademarks must clearly understand their responsibilities under these guidelines. IQM expects compliance and appreciates your cooperation in protecting the integrity of the IQM brand.
IQM retains full discretion to withdraw or amend any authorization granted for the use of its Trademarks at any time. Additionally, IQM reserves the authority to challenge any improper or unauthorized usage of these assets in any jurisdiction globally.
